Scoring 95% or more in the SSC 10th board exam is not about studying 14 hours a day. It is about covering the syllabus early, testing often and revising smartly. Here is the plan we follow with our SSC students, the same approach that helped Saad Khan score 99.2% in 2026.
Know the paper first
Most SSC subjects carry 80 marks for the written board paper and 20 marks for internal assessment. Maths is split into Algebra and Geometry, and Science into Part 1 and Part 2, each written as a separate paper. Internal marks are the easiest marks to secure, so never treat them lightly.
Always check the latest pattern and timetable published by the Maharashtra State Board before the exam season.
June to September: finish the concepts
- Attend every lecture and finish each chapter’s textbook exercises the same week.
- Keep a separate formula and definitions notebook for Maths and Science.
- Take a short test after every chapter. A chapter is “done” only when you score well on its test.
- Clear doubts the same day. Doubts that pile up become weak chapters in February.
October to November: first full revision
- Revise the first half of the syllabus while continuing new chapters.
- Start writing answers in the board format: proper steps in Maths, labelled diagrams in Science, and point-wise answers in Social Science.
- Use the Diwali break for one subject-wise revision cycle.
December: syllabus complete, test series begins
- Complete the full syllabus by early December.
- Start a timed test series: one full paper every few days, written in three hours, exactly like the board exam.
- After each test, write down every mistake in an “error notebook” and revise it weekly.
January: practice papers and weak areas
- Solve previous years’ board papers and sample papers.
- Spend extra time on your two weakest chapters in every subject.
- Practise presentation: neat headings, underlined answers, clear diagrams.
February: final revision and calm
- Revise from your own notes, formula book and error notebook. Avoid starting new reference books now.
- Sleep at least seven hours. A tired mind loses easy marks.
- Plan the gap days between papers: revise, then solve one short practice set.
Five habits of 95%+ scorers
- They test themselves every week, not only before exams.
- They never leave a doubt for “later”.
- They write complete steps, because SSC marking rewards method.
- They revise the same material several times instead of reading many books once.
- They take internal assessment seriously, because those 20 marks add up across subjects.
